On 15th May 1992, Skibbereen Sports Centre opened its doors to the people of Skibbereen & surrounding hinterlands…& has been proudly serving the community ever since.

In this, Episode 10 of ‘The Voice of West Cork’, I have an In-depth interview with Niall McCarthy, current Manager.

Niall 1st started working at the centre in 2008 & over the years, through sheer hard work & determination, has rightly earnt his position.

He talks about the success over the years & the effects of the pandemic, but one thing is for sure, with Niall & his dedicated team at the helm, Skibbereen Sports Centre can happily look forward to another 30 years…& beyond.

There is also a live performance from Brian Hennessey, a true native of Skibbereen, with his version of ‘Breakfast in America’ by Supertramp.
