In Episode 11 of ‘The Voice of West Cork’ I have an in-depth conversation with Roos Demol from Recruit Refugees Ireland.
She talks about the plight of refugees attempting to settle down & make Ireland their home. It is not just about fitting in & making new friends, but also the trauma & devastation that all refugees have encountered in their lives.
However, through Recruit Refugees Ireland, Roos & her trustworthy team offer advice, run education courses, sporting events, create job opportunities & even have their own band.
We are doing so much for refugees, but according to Roos, we can be doing so much more…& I for one am in total agreement.
Our local ‘Featured Artist’ this episode comes in the shape of ‘The Vespertine String Quintet’ with a beautiful song entitled “Ari’s Lullaby” off their album “Before A New Harbour Can Be Built, Difficult Things Must Be Worked Out.”
Enjoy & speak soon…
