Wow…What a day! Today, we finally, ‘Officially Launched’ the westcorkcommunity.ie website & podcast service.

Attendees included Cllr. Gillian Coughlan (County Mayor), Michael Collins TD, Christopher O’Sullivan TD, Cllr. Danny Collins & Cllr. Patrick Murphy as well as guest speakers, Claire Cronin (Bantry NLN), Kathryn Kingston (WCDP) & Sandy McGroarty (CCPPN).

Also in attendance were 50 individual group representatives from all over West Cork, ranging from The West Cork Down Syndrome Support Group to Ballineen & Enniskeane Tidy Towns To The Caha Centre, Beara.

The sun was shining & the atmosphere was buzzing. As well as the large turnout, what made the morning special was the Shear variety of groups, again ranging from youth, sport, wellbeing, arts & social.

It was a morning of shared information on services available, but also an opportunity for groups to network; to meet old friends & make some new ones…& for many, the first actual social gathering since the start of the pandemic.

All in all, the launch was a huge success, with everyone leaving on a positive high. The future once again is looking bright, but it is up to all of us to continue with the invaluable work that we do to & to make 2022 the dawning of a new era.
